5 Tips for better eating decisions

It's one thing to say you want to eat healthier, but it can be hard to know where to start. After all, there are so many different dietary trends out there, it can get overwhelming quickly. But eating healthier doesn't have to be complicated! Here are some simple tips to help you get started:


1. Start with small changes. Don't think about eating entirely differently. Instead, start with little changes. Swap out soda for sparkling water, add a few veggies to your plate, or try a new fruit or vegetable each week.


2. Focus on colorful produce. One of the best ways to get the most nutrition from your food is to load up on colorful produce like dark leafy greens, oranges, red bell peppers and purple potatoes.


3. Find healthy snacks. Cut up fresh veggies and fruits, or look for snacks like hummus, nuts, and yogurt.



4. Make your own food. It's easy to grab something on the go, but when you make your own food, you know exactly what's

in it.


5. Pay attention to portion sizes. Eating too much of even the healthiest of foods can still add up calories.


6. Don't go it alone. Friends and family can be a great resource when it comes to finding support and accountability.


Eating healthier doesn't have to be difficult but it is definitely based on our daily decisions. Making the decision to eat healthier can lead to improved physical and mental wellbeing which will help in every aspect of our lives.
